As I move through life I look back on my accomplishments and find joy and on my failures and wish I could erase them. But no matter how hard I try or want to I can not change the past, I can only rewrite the path of my future.<br />
<br />
Each and everyone of us are blessed with our own circumstances and trials in our lives. We can spend our life idly wishing for things to be different, or we can take the time to make what we have what we want. We will never know who's blessings are another's trials and vise-versa. In my life I do not strive to be extremely wealthy, have magazine worthy beauty or world recognized talent. While all those things I'm sure would be nice, in the end all of that is left behind. <br />
The one thing I wish and work for is to be a loving wife, a beloved daughter, a devoted friend and hopefully one day a loving mother. Some that know me have heard me say that the only thing that matters in life are your family and friends, because in the end that is who will be there with you. And while I believe that whole heartedly, and I try to make sure those people know that I love them and would do anything for them, there are many times that I am a failure at this one important thing.<br />
<br />
I am not proud to say that there have been times that I have resented my parents, ignored my family and gossiped about friends. Those things are awful to do to the people you love, and I wish that excuses like me being an imperfect person, or caught up in the trials of life were good enough to explain those away but they are not. Nothing can excuse those kind of actions, they are shamefully, and permanently etched in my past. the only thing I can do now is apologize for my mistakes and try to better myself for tomorrow.<br />
<br />
One of my very favorite and uplifting talk by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Of Regrets and Resolutions" says; "We are all mortal. I hope this does not come as a surprise to anyone. None of us will be on earth very long. We have a number of precious years which, in the eternal perspective, barely amount to the blink of an eye." " If we fail to give our best personal self and undivided time to those who are truly important to us, one day we will regret it." "Resolve to spend more time with those we love. Resolve to strive more earnestly to become the person God wants us to be. Resolve to find happiness regardless of our circumstance." "We cannot go back in time and change the past, but we can repent. The Savior can wipe away our tears of regret. His Atonement allows us to leave the past behind and move forward with clean hands, a pure heart, and a determination to do better and especially become better."<br />
I hope that I can bring a renewed meaning of those words into my life. I want to be happy, and I want to surround myself with loved family and friends that know how much they mean to me. I hope I can make the most of the time we have on this earth. I cannot promise I will never falter, I can only promise to try. <br />
To my parents, thank you so much for raising me with love and teaching me to do my best and to work hard for what I want and for always being willing to be there to offer help when I needed it most. I hope that one day I can teach my children the same.<br />
To my brothers and sisters thank you for giving me a hard time but for also loving me. I know we didn't always get along but I never have and never will stop loving each of you and continuously wishing each of you the very best and the happiness you deserve in your lives.<br />
To my friends, past and present, near and far, each and everyone of you are unique and amazing in your own way. I love everyone of you for the different things you have taught me, each of you has your own strengths that make you irreplaceable in my life. No matter if we are still friends today, have parted ways or we will be friends, again or for the first time, in the future, thank you for taking the time to be apart of my life. I am truly blessed I I can only hope that I can offer each of you the love and experiences you have shared with me.<br />
<br />
Thank you to those that took the time to read this, I hope that if I have ever wronged or hurt you in the past I apologize and I hope you can look past my failures and remember me for the kind and loving person I try and hope to be.<br />

I wanted to weigh less, be in better shape, be a better runner. But I finally decided that if I kept waiting for everything to be perfect then I would never do it. <br />One of my old roommates and good friends mentioned to me she was going to do the Jordanelle Triathlon and that I should sign up also. So I did, I figured I knew I wasn't going to do amazing, but everyone has to start somewhere, but that didn't change the fact that I was terrified! For two days before the race I could barely eat anything I was so nervous. I kept on telling myself that at least I would be out there trying, and that I didn't have to win, I just had to finish and I would be happy.<br />The morning of the race I was so nervous i was shaking and nearly hyperventilating, and couldn't keep down my breakfast which didn't make anything any easier. <br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5783322100433005170'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgobRJz8368VYElHZhLdO0Bb4TphAbgLd08Lj68DJLqxY0By1MbVs687XP6E7w7X-ACfLkreL1rBhHtK5XADb_kspE9rdZVjgpp5lyGmHvZSJsXp54RqdK-uwYA-v8PxG6AqFLTALH7gBPL/s288/0.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5783322114046291970'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiclJ0m2ehWbRFrFXNdptB6-zs7S75HHOLvu94WoOW_PsXaoZlYl7Ax6hND5LA8ImNS-nR8tsO2g8rTfjolv16P-LJRe78-G6QK-j5re65fJ9nyhtQMkCaDv8KBaQP2_Snxt1C7KZ4Xfa9-/s288/1.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The swim was supposed to be my best leg of the race, but it almost ended up being my worst. I been swimming for a long time so I wasn't worried, when the gun sounded I was off and keeping up with the front of the pack, but after about a 100 meters something happened. I couldn't catch my breath, and it felt as if my wetsuit was strangling me. I'm a tiny bit claustrophobic in the first place, and I hate having anything tight around my neck and between my wetsuit and the murky, people filled water I seriously thought that I was not going to make it. I ended up flipping over to my back, I unzipped my wetsuit a little bit and tried to calm myself down! I WAS NOT GOING TO GIVE ONLY HALFWAY INTO THE FIRST LEG! I would never forgive myself! So I just took it easy and regained my composure and for the last few hundred meters I was able to swim like normal and jump back up a few places. By this time Landon had though I had drowned. He knew my usual swim time of 14 min and when that past he was worried. I finally got out of the water 19 min later. I felt defeated already, if my swim was my best leg everything else was bound to die before I could finish!<br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5783322133447007698'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3poMWnGfbpXV19b1_iP_g2__Z7voAmfUS5MW9-BgNR5-vEqk3toTLDIZcoAMSyoZqLglW5BlTlanaAh8IR43mke9Zhc1oWd1qQckgdKZZCWW7HBPdBNyd52ONs6h_q-pwQWII0PHT8kbQ/s288/2.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So I stripped of my wetsuit and got on my bike, all the other bikes for the women in my race division were gone and I was sure I was in last. But once my legs found their rhythm on the peddles I started feeling better, I could make it. One of the rules of triathlons is no music, it's unsafe to you and others. I'm so used to fining my rhythm in my music I was going so slow with out it, so I started signing whatever I could think of in my head, Row row row your boat, Old McDonald, 99 bottles...but it helped. I picked up my speed and started passing people!!! Before I knew it I had blown though the bike leg! Now I just had to run...<br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5783322149793338978'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmS6XgvNErPhT93DeEs-2PP924Qgm4r7tKXERcL4luDnwkmzG4ryGN4b9Ph6NX_BBH8iu_9MQD6cwle_LnoDqbBM9IpCDfFxx2IR06cEVy2EIS9FyVeAZRtElVwB4-snqHHZt2OWb2BwVQ/s288/3.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />But by this point in time my legs were jello! I could barely stand up when I dismounted my bike! I'm a bad runner to start with (i have horrible knees) and I knew this was going to be the longest 3 miles of my life! I seriously had to think right, left, right, left to keep my feet moving and not fall flat on my face! <br />When I finally rounded the final corner and the finish line was in sight, I could hear my family and Landon cheering me on and the announcer calling my number and reading my race bio, I started crying! I knew I was going to make it! And at that moment I could not have been prouder of my self. It was one of the most memorable and rewarding moments of my whole life! I didn't even care what my finishing time or place was, I finished! <br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5783322160965167602'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIEyVTRC142eXudmtTcmVCxx3iP8LTN9hNV07FHxNJQTYyl_TVAHl113osakNuS3jSzo5MYV_lts-6VFyyLmHVW4yJ412KH-p_SiMECm4GoPa4CEobqOjO9cXWPszkHzzeB7ADFDufjz4Q/s288/5.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />*Landon and I at the finish line<br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5783322181550354642'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv5Sg15oi-Xy5jABUkk3YcGSXbxHQolt5UA3jy19j0NmF9bo0MJYIWJztW25H7iN0TkWhCtqXEnWUKcUSxhiPDuXE5jy3_KdeatkiXt81v4Tptkas43_S428UN0OnAXna59fQzDYNhcSJq/s288/6.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />*My amazing friend Makensie and I <br /><br />After the race was over they started announcing the winners overall and then the top three in each age and weight group. Because I weigh over 150 pounds I get put in a separate group called Athena they break that down to ages under 39 and over 40. It sucks because I wish I was supper skinny, but it's nice because realistically I have no hope at keeping up with a 100 lb twig. I didn't think I came close to placing, my finishing time was 2:09 (i was so close of my goal if under 2 hours). But then all of a sudden my family was yelling at me that they read off my name for my division! Seriously!For Landon's job he is sometimes required to travel for conferences and such. When he found out he was going to be going to San Francisco we figured it would be a nice cheep trip for us seeing we would only have to dish out money for a plane ticket for me! <br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5771155689048693922'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTq-OMXx4RuEYQpZSfJE1Ykb3gsEg_MVBzbL10a4nym3wLAYIGLvinCL_1L5UJ1gnbZ8UkIOQpv5yO0TXz34RvOyZDJrNTZSxdCrNLxGoVvnctNpnebgagW-hSm-3YxIfRN6IzI_aBm20l/s288/0.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Neither of us had been before and so we were super excited! Our traveling philosophy is to have an idea of things we would like to see but we don't really plan much beyond where we stay and how we are getting around! I feel like this leaves us with a lot of freedom to wonder and see things we wouldn't normally, it also takes a lot of stress out of trying to stay on schedule and fit everything in. We still always end up seeing and experience more that we can imagine.<br />We didn't rent a car because the public transit went everywhere, and you had to pay to park everywhere you went. We spent a lot of time waiting for trains until we finally mastered the metro schedule and routes. Landon didn't have meetings this day so we did lots of our sight seeing then.<br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5771155707554019458'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2sXFYb-uAi_-X2HAsqy7gLpjacw9VMWmdJIAtI7X9RItAFaeuUlLS86QPRiij_gEwwFARdqnxvpbGlTLTI1lDB-iKP3fB2i2SEi7ePhmKnnZbRA3E8an-9LGB9e-bM0aFlu3hvdzhBVnA/s288/1.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Chocolate Heaven!<br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5771155725595014194'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx71oSZjV9xyY0KqiJ3gOA_kPXWD581RBEq7mx-kJVeevG-FOGgglQOazHCxXVBHEO84XD6gbSh8_-wxmft5fEYGlHZ5WhXzjboFda6I1Kv3wiex1tq43cUYOxysFxwJphOn94quXIhdOt/s288/2.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Only day the bridge wasn't covered in fog!<br /><br /><center><a href='https://picasaweb.google.com/104978597624922233395/BloggerPictures?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjBoMv9_OzzmwE#5771155743595544946'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWJqolxckiEFI9JEd4Nf_kI3WPTEU5dKu4VHPfmoLtE1BTxLU7IhQ1zMYni6jIK5Jx_pxYMJC3qlzQXJK4nMNItN0JD5t4G-7tU7xX4M-kVtZxwYHJyaY4nnp32FmB3tsdLvFjvwOtcpLA/s288/3.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Experienced our first food truck! It was a last minute idea but sometimes those are the best! Our friends TC and Michele wanted to do something for their 6th anniversary and leave their cute little girl with grandparents so it was a kid free weekend, and it slowly evolved from that.<br /><br />I love our group of friends and we have such a great mix of every personality and stages in life that it is always fun! Our newly wed friends Justina and Trent were even able to make it up with us! We were bummed not everyone could come, but it was such a good time I think we all want to keep doing more camping on a regular basis!<br /><br />Got a little fishing in....<br /><br /><br Memories<div style="text-align: center;">
Isn't it amazing how you can listen to a song and you can remember exactly when you first hear it and what you were doing with your life! The reason I bring this up is May and June are my two soundtrack months!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Every May I start missing the beach! May marks the time when school was out and that I would be packing up my stuff and heading out to good old Myrtle Beach to sit in a lifeguard stand all summer and soak up the sun! I miss those carefree days badly! Its super weird now being married and done with school owning a house and having a lot more responsibilities than I sometimes want.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So with out a doubt every May, Dashboard Confessionals Dusk and Summer album fills my car speakers and the windows go down and I picture driving down the coastal HW and sitting in my beaten up white lifeguard stand!</div>

Every summer I wish I could go back, but I know if I did it would never be quite the same as the two amazing summers I spent there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Every June, Cold Play Viva la Vida pops in the stereo and remindes me exactly why I am no longer enjoying the sunshine on the beach, It remindes me of the June that I met Landon. The song Viva La Vida was all over the radio the summer I met Landon and I loved it! That album was the first thing Landon ever bought me and I will never be able to listen to it and not think of him! </div>

So some of my friends know that I used to climb quite a bit, enough so that I had all of my own gear. I loved it, it was the only thing besides swimming that I could go do to de-stress, vent, or just go out and have a good time with some friends. It was right up my thrill seeking ally!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But not so much Landon's. When Landon and I got married I was the much more adventuresome one of our duo, but with school, work and being newlyweds it was just easier to put away the climbing gear and focus on what life had to bring us.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Until this year.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Im not sure what snapped in me, if it was the mundane of my job or the exhausting repetition of day to day life, but I needed so thrill back and so I drug Landon to the climbing gym one day with me!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And much to my surprise my very not so adventuresome husband loved it! over the next few weeks we went out and splurged a bit on getting him outfitted with climbing gear and I dusted off mine and we started to become climbers!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now I am proud to say that Landon has quickly picked up on climbing and I have fallen happily back into my old niche! Now I'm just bummed we didn't start 3 years ago...It would have helped us keep of the comfortable married couple weight gain!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The best part about it is that it has really strengthened our bond and husband and wife and best friends, we enjoy challenging each other and cheering each other on!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And now that the weather has warmed up for the most part we are loving being able to go climb outside! If anyone ever wants to come with us we love having company just let me know!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't have many pictures of Landon and I climbing seeing that our hands are usually preoccupied but hear are a few from with we have taken my family climbing with us.</div>

I experienced my quarter life crisis, what had I done with my life thus far, what I still need to do! Well adding one more year to that amplified that crisis! I always thought people were ridiculous that complained about getting older, and here I was realizing why they do. It's terrifying to get older, realize how fast time goes and how hard it is to get all the things you want to do in such little time.<br /><br />One thing that I am grateful for as I have gotten older it's the important realization of how much family and true friends are. I'm lucky to have both of those in my life!<br /><br />For my birthday my friends took me out to lunch for my birthday at Zupas! It was so great to be able to spend time with them, and they were great and pitched in and got me a gift card to Bare Essentials my favorite makeup! It was great that they put so much thought to get me something I would love!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/01/2259.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/01/s_2259.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />That night Landon had surprised me and had planned for all of our friends to go to Color Me Mine! It was so much fun!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/01/2262.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/01/s_2262.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And then back to our house for cake and ice cream! <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/04/01/2263.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/04/01/s_2263.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Landon out did himself and made my day special, and also got me a great birthday present...a new bike!<br />I was also luck to have a birthday dinner at my family's house and at my in laws with great food and presents at both!<br />I had a great birthday and I am so happy I got to spend it with so many of my favorite people! Thanks everyone for making me feel special!<br />Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-76389348289581106312012-01-29T15:06:00.000-08:002012-01-29T15:06:41.481-08:00Landon's 25th!<div style="text-align: center;">
I know I am quite a bit behind but you got to start somewhere!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We always get to start of December with a bang, Landons birthday falls at the first of the month so it just adds to the excitement of the Holidays.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This year Landon turned 25!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
which means, now when we go on vacation he can finally drive the rental car.... Legally at least.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTWtz3cBu76CCjbiIeFfvTRX43hBmuidF6jzJMgIP0wpFqgTeo4JPNWzMEOvf7SMfjjiiUrxnzM-DZ8A-kuMY-OvBLVV8M0SAozYuyeu3iGu38kFGCZTghSuhyphenhyphenYMtZ6qahnTJY4FXrgm4/s1600/IMG_0638.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTWtz3cBu76CCjbiIeFfvTRX43hBmuidF6jzJMgIP0wpFqgTeo4JPNWzMEOvf7SMfjjiiUrxnzM-DZ8A-kuMY-OvBLVV8M0SAozYuyeu3iGu38kFGCZTghSuhyphenhyphenYMtZ6qahnTJY4FXrgm4/s320/IMG_0638.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
For his birthday Landon got a new xbox with a kinect, which we enjoy dancing around the living room and just looking like complete idiots most of the time!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmmt1iinfOiKvwmSznnPMopcOcB4O5ASYGY1QFmLwoZbDsCdrpnwsaDxcdhO1bFdFkL-01Y3dNzCj7zk2AbdGMYTgbv2_MNBPtaU1fKuFZ7kNEnfesY6njXB2wArbcGPx5y6OWZN7_hIM/s1600/IMG_0637.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmmt1iinfOiKvwmSznnPMopcOcB4O5ASYGY1QFmLwoZbDsCdrpnwsaDxcdhO1bFdFkL-01Y3dNzCj7zk2AbdGMYTgbv2_MNBPtaU1fKuFZ7kNEnfesY6njXB2wArbcGPx5y6OWZN7_hIM/s320/IMG_0637.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We invited a few friends over for cake and ice cream and had some fun.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love Landon so much and I am glad I get to spend so much time with him and watch as we continue to grow closer as a couple. He never stops telling me how much he loves me I couldn't ask for a better husband! Happy Birthday Love!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Not much else, we stayed at home and welcomed our 6 trick or treaters with handfulls of candy. We are still eating leftover candy to this day. I made homemade brocoli cheddar soup in pumpkin bread bowls I got from the store. YUM! Hope everyone else had a good Halloween, even if it is a month late!</div>Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-62291649657708049982011-09-10T14:24:00.000-07:002011-09-10T14:24:57.550-07:00Roxy<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So for the longest time Landon and I have wanted a pet. When we finally bought our house we figured now was the time! I wanted a dog but with my new job I knew I would not have enough time to devote to a rambunctious puppy. So that is how we came to find our most of the time adorable Roxy cat!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We picked her up from the pet store in June and Landon was amazed that I actually went through with buying here...I have a past of not being able to commit to pets. As a kitten she had a funny personality about her, and loved to chew on and play in my roxy shoes, hence the name!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Its been a couple of months since we first got her and we love her to death! She constantly makes our lives more entertaining. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are some of Roxy's quirks:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She is insanely needy when she is left at home all day alone, and will run and meet you at the door and wait for you to pick her up and give her some love and pets. (I love being the first one home from work because of this).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We are pretty sure she is bi-polar, literally, one minute she is a loving lap cat, the next she is zooming around the house like a nut job (I hope to one day catch this on camera).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She hates drinking out of her water bowl so instead she waits and drinks out of everyones cups when the aren't looking. Because of this we have resorted to just leaving a cup by the fridge just for here, even though her water dish is just feet away in the laundry room.</div>

One of my most amazing friends lost her adorable brother yesterday in a car accident, at the young age of 17. It is things like these where I can't help but wonder, "why was it his time?" <br />I have been blessed to grow up in a religion being taught that we will have the opportunity to see each other again in heaven and that families can be together forever, but it does not make news like this any less hard. He had such a bright future ahead of him, and now the world will never know the amazing person it lost at such a young age. <br />It makes me kind of of angry that there seem to be so many people who don't even care for or appreciate the life they have but it is the strong, amazing, people who have to face some of the hardest trials. We will never know the completeness of Gods plan on this earth, we just have to have faith.<br /><br />My heart love and prayers go out to my amazing friend and her family as they cope with the loss of an amazing person.<br /><br /><br /><br />Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-35341803260277699732011-07-12T18:22:00.000-07:002011-07-12T18:22:12.701-07:00The great gas light debate!<div style="text-align: center;">So in the last few months a few things have changed in our lives (mostly mine)</div><div style="text-align: center;">New Job</div><div style="text-align: center;">New House</div><div style="text-align: center;">New Cat</div><div style="text-align: center;">(All of which I will update about later in my life) but for now</div><div style="text-align: center;">the thing that makes me happiest of all...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizPJOEHzhI3sf-_WzhLrmXnPFf7E2uQHGP0uqstgxvtL06GoVzC1GXC4QQ9ZZ3KKGIPc1M5J0DWmC8QfBdXSwnWnQ2ihL6yM81dyBzuGp5ba_5thwbWiD5wezz2ZAsvPwB5_VCDhGZeaw/s1600/IMG_0025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizPJOEHzhI3sf-_WzhLrmXnPFf7E2uQHGP0uqstgxvtL06GoVzC1GXC4QQ9ZZ3KKGIPc1M5J0DWmC8QfBdXSwnWnQ2ihL6yM81dyBzuGp5ba_5thwbWiD5wezz2ZAsvPwB5_VCDhGZeaw/s320/IMG_0025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Not seeing this annoying thing as much!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Today was the first day in over two weeks that this unwanted reminder payed me a visit.</div><div style="text-align: center;">When I was going to school and working in Salt Lake I was very familier with this annoying little light because I had to fill up my car with expensive dirty looking water just about every 4 days!!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Needless to say this light cost me mucho mula over the last 2 years, So I am happy to now see him less often.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">But this brings me to...duh duh dunn....the great gas debate between Landon and I. </div><div style="text-align: center;">I walk in the house from work today and joyfully tell Landon that my gas light was on, and not burnt out like I was starting to suspect because I had not seen it in awhile. </div><div style="text-align: center;">So Landon brought up the absurd idea and asked if I went and filled up my gas tank?</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">WHAT?@!? Why would I have done such a thing???</div><div style="text-align: center;">(Let me draw your attention to the left side of the picture in bright neon lights my car proudly proclaims that I have (at least) 50 miles that I can still go on said gas! That will get me to and from work easily for the rest of the week, if not on into next week! Why would inconvenience myself now when I can easily put it off for a few more days!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Landon proceeds to repeatedly bang his head into the wall and states "when you run out of gas...again...I am not coming to help you".</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Procrastination at its finest! I am queen of the E as Landon fondly refers to me. I attribute this mostly to the fact that I while commuting I had to fill up so often that I did try to put it off as long as possible. But in my defense I have only ran out of gas once...that Landon knows of...</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">So who else out there waits till the last second to fill up their car?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

.<br />
The last two semesters I took 24 and 26 credits so that I could be done! If you ask me now I say that it was well worth the time, effort and stress. But if you would have asked me two weeks ago during finals my brain was fried!<br />
.<br />
I was lucky that one of my favorite authors was the speaker at my graduation, Mitch Albom (he wrote the bestselling book Tuesdays with Morrie, which I highly recommend)! It made it so memorable for me! One of the things that he said that I loved was, that your life is made up of all the grains of sand in an hourglass. When your time is up and that last grain of sand is falling, what is it that you want most? Your big screen TV? or to be surrounded by the people you love to let them know you love them? In your last grain of sand all you want to do is to give your love to everyone. Every grain of sand is exactly like the next, you can discern one from the other, so why should all the other grains of sand in your life be spent doing anything but investing in the relationships that will ultimately be all you want in life?</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors of science degree in Health Promotion and Education with an emphasis in Emergency Medical Services and Search and Rescue. Yeah its a mouthful! So what do I want to do with my life now you ask??? My dream is to be a ER/Life Flight nurse! So I will be finishing out my RN degree and in the mean time I hope to start working in the ER and try to get on with the Utah County Search and Rescue team I love the outdoors and I love the adrenaline rush of helping people when they are at their worst. </div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I really enjoyed my schooling and all the classes and teachers I had, which helped me realize even more what I wanted in my life! I also want to say that there is no way I could have done any of this with out my family. My parents and grandparents helped me out so much! And Landon, poor thing had to put up with me on a day to day basis while I was a mental case with stress! I love them all so much for helping me get to where I am now!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here are some more pictures from graduation!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyshaKl926h_CaojffSZb4CTBQkbRCVdA-cJas_7tPQj0pUX8v8GXKzkktQCr1HKo11GNzhLRqEdjFjhFiR6wm_UVJ_-FNKd7LXlM0xVObcKnm4G9S3LhkM-sA4mghbwCZQ2AQGMkvpOk/s1600/100_1934.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyshaKl926h_CaojffSZb4CTBQkbRCVdA-cJas_7tPQj0pUX8v8GXKzkktQCr1HKo11GNzhLRqEdjFjhFiR6wm_UVJ_-FNKd7LXlM0xVObcKnm4G9S3LhkM-sA4mghbwCZQ2AQGMkvpOk/s320/100_1934.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

So much has happend in the last two months that it overwhelms me to think about blogging about it all and so I haven't.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">So here is a quick overview of Feb!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love the month of February only because it starts off by my birthday! I turned 25 this year, and totally had a quarter life crisis! I cant believe I am so old! I contemplated what I have done with my life so far and what I still want to do! I have vowed to make the next 25 years much more entertaining! One thing that I really look forward to being 25 is now I can rent a car without paying extra fees!!! Landon and I are really excited about this because it opens up more vacation possibilities for us! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOBhrQXXCuAEIYPvlBZwtTrOnzkWlSVSL8e0Cxra7Ndgi8I_2P1Sd5fZD6u5iNpDLu97gTojjjuwxOC_aRlLy4B_deRh6ki7zXfmclqZTxo5UWPoYoS-eX2vEKNAhPrxWzOGx7k2-3v1s/s1600/IMG_0973.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOBhrQXXCuAEIYPvlBZwtTrOnzkWlSVSL8e0Cxra7Ndgi8I_2P1Sd5fZD6u5iNpDLu97gTojjjuwxOC_aRlLy4B_deRh6ki7zXfmclqZTxo5UWPoYoS-eX2vEKNAhPrxWzOGx7k2-3v1s/s320/IMG_0973.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For my Birthday I was able to hang out with some great friends and all of my family! I had like 4 birthday cakes!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">One present that Landon got me was Kiteboarding lessons!!!! I have been wanting to do this for years now and it was a blast! We learned the basics of how to fly and handle the kite! We get to go again this week and actually get on our boards with the kite!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKVEDq0BrSHGsvEOoT89M_yh-B38BhnuQkizcGoGpIyhVXI3aalR2h1NQOHCqmhDAYKfrJ2_cp_prSMAB9S-n0udWsGYroQSuvsVVwvBNeXRFzYfuWquFN9HGNlFMLraUWenxfCBBNEGY/s1600/IMG_0984.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKVEDq0BrSHGsvEOoT89M_yh-B38BhnuQkizcGoGpIyhVXI3aalR2h1NQOHCqmhDAYKfrJ2_cp_prSMAB9S-n0udWsGYroQSuvsVVwvBNeXRFzYfuWquFN9HGNlFMLraUWenxfCBBNEGY/s320/IMG_0984.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My other Birthday/Valentines present was a supper nice Bernina sewing machine! I LOVE IT. I never used to be much into sewing but with my sister having a baby I have started to love making quilts. I finally was able to finish a quilt I started when Landon and I first got married!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYMB1_AG2JQPGgOHUNB_hyphenhyphenuXx9X8W6CJi5AsRkvfMRnCuhwkyfc5ZQKKLnyc5EvYGz1G8CBmMzsl1A2GKxoQhUmd_Xvwwfl13n-QE7R4ofpuxtuIl7hTPYMQr1uqyy-AqHtbGWdVaurGk/s1600/IMG_0976.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYMB1_AG2JQPGgOHUNB_hyphenhyphenuXx9X8W6CJi5AsRkvfMRnCuhwkyfc5ZQKKLnyc5EvYGz1G8CBmMzsl1A2GKxoQhUmd_Xvwwfl13n-QE7R4ofpuxtuIl7hTPYMQr1uqyy-AqHtbGWdVaurGk/s320/IMG_0976.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">LOVE IT! Now I just need to get it quilted!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The end of February was so much fun! One of my old roomies from USU is pregnant with her first baby girl! So we found it a good excuse to get together all of our old roommates and their husbands for a brunch date and a baby shower! I had the best time! These girls are some of my BEST friends and I am supper bummed I dont get to see them much anymore! We always laugh and have the best time together!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjIhz5Obh4ESj4b0MZ3iKz2AkgSiBPH6L3Tfxa49ekJ_OEj4z_6HYjf-d-pDo2JjU5tOjGeNBQq-WO38rK6zWz2iCtvll6uW7cZnVakBJDv53AKpDM7OpbrFv-Jnfb7wFyC7Vxm1YlLoI/s1600/Girls.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjIhz5Obh4ESj4b0MZ3iKz2AkgSiBPH6L3Tfxa49ekJ_OEj4z_6HYjf-d-pDo2JjU5tOjGeNBQq-WO38rK6zWz2iCtvll6uW7cZnVakBJDv53AKpDM7OpbrFv-Jnfb7wFyC7Vxm1YlLoI/s320/Girls.jpg" width="320" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9tqoBQcbToldptVC2SgDA64keGxWaVI6k40HjAILnbtytH0Dmk61xiBYFj0gfc2qKX7TA1s-6GqvLwRuGegD0LaDWdxLznDvHVGack7YIJkVLmkPvU4wNYhEaGDn6yQTaKGA6-Ei__ik/s1600/Friends.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9tqoBQcbToldptVC2SgDA64keGxWaVI6k40HjAILnbtytH0Dmk61xiBYFj0gfc2qKX7TA1s-6GqvLwRuGegD0LaDWdxLznDvHVGack7YIJkVLmkPvU4wNYhEaGDn6yQTaKGA6-Ei__ik/s320/Friends.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For the shower I made KJ a baby blanket and to beanie hats from the cutest fabric! </div><div style="text-align: center;">No its not my baby (just a little bummed about this) but it is my big sisters! I'm so excited my I'm finally going to be an Aunt! Im sure my sister is going to get sick of me, but I can't wait to spoil my future niece or nephew! I already have so many ideas for this little one! I can't even contain myself waiting to hear if it's a boy or a girl! My sister broke the new to us on sunday when they invited us all over to dinner, she stuffed little ultrasound pictures in New Years party poppers announcing that she is due on July 21st, yay! Even though I found out on Sunday I had to wait till now to say anything until all of the family knew, we are all so excited!</div></span>Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-28519425018238324962010-12-20T10:13:00.000-08:002010-12-20T10:13:59.027-08:00Finally some Free time!<div style="text-align: center;">I have finally finished my second to last semester! Not with out some trouble though....I missed my last final because I was stuck in traffic from an accident! Lucky for me my teacher was amazingly nice and set up a time with me to take it the next day! I do have to say I am pretty proud of myself, with taking 24 credits I didn't know how well I was going to do in all of my classes, but I managed to pull off all A's and only 1 B! One more semester to go, then Im done!!!!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Since I finished my finals on friday I had some free time to do some christmas crafts that had been collecting dust for awhile!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Two years ago Landon and I were able to get these great silver and gold ornaments for our tree on clearance! I love them and think it gives such a chic classic christmas feel to our house. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqufAoXPQxB_PP9OP_JpjXJMur55WjxzVCMN4Pv9BtbIrWVUfzndm9uMY8oM3V5lMEfbdLw_N9oFhlskwYWQ5EFyBXIERukrpJXvTCrNX1-RDMzJdVwbmvcUZDwiX0G4KznfbkdFc-70g/s1600/IMG_0954.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqufAoXPQxB_PP9OP_JpjXJMur55WjxzVCMN4Pv9BtbIrWVUfzndm9uMY8oM3V5lMEfbdLw_N9oFhlskwYWQ5EFyBXIERukrpJXvTCrNX1-RDMzJdVwbmvcUZDwiX0G4KznfbkdFc-70g/s320/IMG_0954.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">But...I didn't have any matching stockings or tree skirt to go with it. I was blog surfing one day and saw someone who had made stockings and a tree skirt out of a $10 canvas drop cloth from Home Depot, I fell in love, and the canvas color would work great with my tree! I am horrible at taking pictures while im making things but here is my summarized process.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I had Landon cut and sand the blocks all different sizes from a 2x4 and 2x6 and a skinny piece for the Merry. Then I picked out different fonts for each letter and printed out on card stock and exacto knifed them to make stenciles. I painted the blocks white and sanded down the edges. I then stenciled on the letteres, I used folk art metallic paint to match my glittery tree! I then took some stain and rubbed it along the edges to distress them some. Last but not least, I also cut out snowflake stencils (the hardest and longest part of it all) and painted them on to random blocks. While the snowflake paint was still wet I covered it with some white sparkle glitter! </div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I now thing my living room looks complete! I am so excited for Christmas if not just for the fact I dont have to worry about school, I also get to spend extra time with my family and Landon!</div><div style="text-align: center;">MERRY CHRISTMAS!</div>Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-63844418462522286382010-11-21T23:02:00.000-08:002010-11-21T23:02:03.806-08:00November almost come and gone....<div style="text-align: center;">This month has seem to fly by for me mostly because I have had little time to do much of anything besides homework and work. Lets just say that taking 24 credits was not one of my brightest ideas! Many people who find this out think I am some kind of nut job, then they find out im working and commuting on top of it and they ask how I am still alive. On a side note I have a friend who is taking 36 credits and basically lives at Starbucks, so compared to him I am normal!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">This last week has been one of the craziest of them all. Now that the term is coming to an end all of my term papers, research papers, assignments, quizes and tests are all due at the same time! Just this last week I busted out both a 10 page and 20 page research papers in 2 days!</div><div style="text-align: center;">. </div><div style="text-align: center;">But the AMAZING NEWS!!! My graduation application has been officially accepted and I have registered for my last semester of classes (another exciting 21 credits) and I will graduate on May 5th next year! Needless to say I am STOKED! And in all honesty thats the only think keeping me going during these last two horrible semesters! I just want to be done!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">A funny thing happens when I get really stressed....I get a perma twitch in my left eye! Loads of fun....it drives me bonkers and random people think im winking at them!</div><div style="text-align: center;">. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Another cool thing that happened the beging of November...My bro came home from his mission in Rochester, New York!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjga0DB0t9T19-F6RSSVHISk5vgEF3GdW_LWfnTaSh3cSrZ6AfRcxW8JAypSfJKxBxRJiekzu-_AkyTWpCIPgglWXv1qGchVsWgU690pBNrY4GFSl9118NSYzOvEauCX8U97DJ6WvnlDDI/s1600/BRENTHOMECOMING.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjga0DB0t9T19-F6RSSVHISk5vgEF3GdW_LWfnTaSh3cSrZ6AfRcxW8JAypSfJKxBxRJiekzu-_AkyTWpCIPgglWXv1qGchVsWgU690pBNrY4GFSl9118NSYzOvEauCX8U97DJ6WvnlDDI/s320/BRENTHOMECOMING.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Its been fun having him back. Since he has been back he has spent a considerable amount of time and our house, cleaning off any leftover dinner we might have! Also now that I spend an annoying amount of time on the computer doing homework, he and Landon spend quality bonding time on the couch....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOW5TvnyBy3sbHSelWsYHqfhgM8xCY2G3pu9_F8dXnVfSF2mnOXy_bVgau_zo0iIygYaUWJYj53oZHWcbNA64cjalVV5c2YDOT-sl1vUuCvWJPj3f9shlMh0q0WgvAOBFddRb9O2O8HRc/s1600/IMG_0663.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOW5TvnyBy3sbHSelWsYHqfhgM8xCY2G3pu9_F8dXnVfSF2mnOXy_bVgau_zo0iIygYaUWJYj53oZHWcbNA64cjalVV5c2YDOT-sl1vUuCvWJPj3f9shlMh0q0WgvAOBFddRb9O2O8HRc/s320/IMG_0663.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> playing halo. I get the joy listening to them kill people as I try to come up with new ways to feed the hungry in Africa!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Landon and I are continuing to look for a house, it is becoming very tedious and adds even more stress to my life. Some days I think we will never find a house and we will be doomed to live in apartments forever. We get the joy of moving next week also to another apartment that will let us go month to month until we find a house so we dont have to resign another year lease where we are at. </div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">This last saturday after my crap homework week I decided to throw a early Thanksgiving dinner party! Landon and I will be on vacation over Thanksgiving with my family and we wont be able to have a traditional Thanksgiving. So I decided to have one with some friends of ours and it was so much fun having them over for good food and fun! It was my first time ever making a turkey and I was horrified of ruining it. But amazingly it turned out perfect and moist and better than expected for my first time!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwctfKo9h_PTke7cgH9IltV3gR4AjYu8yhyphenhyphenucK0H52Hi39sEw8mW8-IUs4OuMpAH92iODaG3zFqVPjEsmcv9yUYFNDAqmwhqZ8YWjEqyy9U5IAED5S8FxxGz8obvMGbIQWSPDBt7-E_CA/s1600/IMG_0654.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwctfKo9h_PTke7cgH9IltV3gR4AjYu8yhyphenhyphenucK0H52Hi39sEw8mW8-IUs4OuMpAH92iODaG3zFqVPjEsmcv9yUYFNDAqmwhqZ8YWjEqyy9U5IAED5S8FxxGz8obvMGbIQWSPDBt7-E_CA/s320/IMG_0654.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

It was nice to finally be able sit down and not have to do any homework, taking 24 credits can burn you out fast...who would have thought! I was finally able to catch up on a few other things, like; cleaning my disaster area apartment! How dose an apartment keep getting dirtier when your never there? And I also finally got around to doing my laundry that I was two week behind on! I was also able to get ahead start on some upcoming homework I have, and finally get around to catching up on my blog!<br /><br />I have really enjoyed most of my classes this semester! One of my favorites has been my search and rescue class! A few weeks ago we got to go visit the Air Med helicopter pad and the Life Flight plane hanger and talk with the crews! I was in heaven, this is what I want to do with my life so getting to talk to these guys and watch them in action was the highlight of my month! When we were on the air med heli pad we got to see two helicopters land with patients, and see them get a call and take off to go pick up someone else! It was so cool! And in the Life Flight hanger we got to see how they can transport patients by airplane!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/2635.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/s_2635.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/2636.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/s_2636.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/2637.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/s_2637.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />For our anniversary we were planning on going to San Francisco but we put an offer on a house we like so we had to stay closer in case we needed to do anything with that. So we ended up going up to Park City for the weekend and stayed in the nicest hotel I have ever seen, it was called The Chateau at Silver Lake! Landon out did himself and I had such a great time! It was nice to be able to see and spend more then 30 min with Landon seeing that we are both so busy! We were planning on riding the alpine slide and zip line but ended up getting rained out, I was so bummed, but it was nice that we didn't spend as much money as we had planned on!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/2638.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/s_2638.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/2649.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/s_2649.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/2652.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/10/17/s_2652.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Over all it was a great pause from school and work it helped relieve so much stress and tension i had. I felt bad because with both of us being so busy and stressed in a small little apartment there were times we got on each others nerves. It was nice to take a week and remind ourselves how much we love each other. Needless to say I am dreading to have to start back with everything tomorrow but it is nice to know I am now half way done with my nightmare semester!!! <br />Also I am excited for the weeks coming up, my little brother gets home from his mission!!! I can't wait to see him! After he gets home we are going on a family vacation over thanksgiving to Cali so that should be fun and oh so entertaining! Nothing like saying welcome home Elder then being confined in cars and hotel rooms with your family for a week!<br />Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-67085201364067500692010-09-29T08:15:00.001-07:002010-09-29T09:59:26.297-07:00Rescue practice turns real!<center><a href="http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/09/29/958.jpg"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/09/29/s_958.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center><br />
One of my classes this semester is a High Angle Rescue class which is pretty much the bomb! So for the last few weekends I have spent 12 hours a day dangling off a cliff learning different rescue techniques. The class has by far been one of my favorites but 12 hours a day three days in a row is brutal mentally and physically! I don't think I have ever been so sore, bruised and bleeding in my life.<br />
<br />
So on this past Sunday while our class was working on some practice scenarios our instructor saw a climber fall 80 feet from the cliff below us! With in seconds we switched from practice mode to real life application! I feel bad the guy fell and was hurt but this was by far the coolest thing ever! This is the kind of thing I want to do so I was on cloud 9 and full of adrenalin and excitement. We were able to help the climber until EMS arrived, we then helped backboard and carry him across the river to the ambulance and in doing so made it in the news! Here is the link! <a href="http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700068871/Climber-burns-hands-in-80-foot-fall.html"target="_blank">Deseret News: Climber burns hands in 80 foot fall.</a> and yes that is me in the picture! It was amazing that he fell 80 feet and got away with just severe rope burns on his hands!<br />
<br />
Here are some more pictures from the duration on our class:<br />

Landon was so great while I spent these long hours in my class he managed to have the house clean and a wonderful dinner waiting for me with a back rub every night when I got home! It reminded me how incredibly wonderful he is and how lucky I am to have him in my life!<br />
<br />
I had so much fun learning how to rescue people in cliff situation! It made me remember how much I missed climbing over the last few years! I am excited and more determined to get back out on the rocks some more to keep these skills sharp and hopefully soon I will have the knowledge and skills I need to apply to be a volunteer on the SLC search and rescue team!Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-26760623080606240922010-09-16T10:12:00.000-07:002010-09-16T10:12:33.594-07:003's and 7's<div style="text-align: center;">Bad things happen in 3's and 7's....</div><div style="text-align: center;">so after having my wallet stolen last week the bad luck streak was just getting started!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">On tuesday I was busy canceling all my cards and filing police reports so I forgot that tuition was due that day...opps! I had to go down to the registrars office and beg them not to drop my classes.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Thursday I had to go down to the social security office to get a new SS card (you need that to get a new drivers license). But they would not give me one because I didn't have a drivers license! They said I could go and get a copy of my medical record signed by my doctor, so I went down to my Dr's office. BUT they couldn't give it to me without a ID! I lost it and was bawling in the middle of the office. Finally they felt so bad they let me use my car registration and gave me my record. I was finally able to apply for my SS card. (I have to wait for that to be mailed before I can head down to the DMV which will be another adventure).</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Later thursday I had class, so I went up to the U a little early so I could go and get my new student ID and trax pass and do a few other things on campus. After class on my way to my car I could not find my keys in my bag. I spent the next 30 min back tracking around campus, and lucky for me some nice person turned them in to the student union desk!</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">That weekend I had my cliff face rescue class from 8am-8pm, it was tons of fun! But on Saturday night when I got home from my class I realized that I needed a few things from the store. So I just grabbed a set of car keys and left. When I came back from the store I realized I didn't grab my house keys...I was locked out. This normally wouldn't have been so bad because my Mom usually has a spare key and Landon. But Landon was out of town for work and I had used my Mom's copy awhile back and never gave it back to her. So I had to call the locksmith at 11pm wait for 1 hour for him to come and pay $50 bucks to have him let me in.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">It was a really adventurous week! By the end of it was just exhausted! I was just waiting to see what else could happen next. I usually am really good about knowing where I put things, so I feel like my brain has just gone to mush. I think my heavy class load is getting to me and stressing me out just a bit. So I have decided that I am going to cut back on my work hours (lucky me I have a great boss that will let me) So that I can have a few hours for me and to catch up on homework. Hopefully this will help my stress level....I don't have much more stuff to loose!</div>Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-80366889171052488052010-09-07T21:16:00.000-07:002010-09-07T21:16:32.755-07:00A No Good Very Bad Day<div style="text-align: center;">So I have noticed lately that when I get stressed my brain goes to applesauce!</div><div style="text-align: center;">And I gave the human race way to much credit thinking that most of us were decent people.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Well apparently not the person that stole my wallet</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">We went to the movies last night and unbeknownst to me my wallet fell out of my purse and on the floor and was left behind.</div><div style="text-align: center;">This morning when I went to get breakfast from the hospital cafeteria I noticed my loss and called the theater with no such luck.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">So lucky me got to spend all morning filling a police report, canceling my credit cards, bank cards and all of my checks, notifying my health insurance, the credit bureaus, my school ID and trax pass so that the thief wouldn't get away with much.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">What makes me most upset are those things I cant replace...I had a few gift cards to restaurants and stores I was looking forward to using along with some free movie passes. My original Lifeguard certification (it holds special meaning to me). Some receipts from things I needed to return (guess their mine now). But most importantly to me it had my first full temple recommend, with my endowment stamp on the back and where I very first signed my married name when Landon and I were sealed, that I will never forgive the thief for taking.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">A few funny things happened while I was dealing this today</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">All credit card, bank and insurance companies all nicely told me to Have a Great Day at the end of my depressing call.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">After telling the credit card company that I had my wallet stolen, they then preceded to ask me for my card number...sorry kinda dont have that.</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I was told by my bank to go to the branch and get a new card made...so I did, but they conveniently forgot to tell me I needed a form of ID to get the new card, non of which I had, I left in tears...They later called Landon and told him he could be my "ID" since its our joint account. </div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">And by far my favorite......I called a card company to report my lost credit card and the coustomer service lady (who I guess had the IQ of a 2 year old) in all seriousness asked "Have you looked for it?", I holding back my amazement and laughter I responded "Yes, I looked and did not find it, which is why I am calling to report it lost"</div><div style="text-align: center;">.</div><div style="text-align: center;">So if anyone knows anyone who works at the Provo Town theaters please tell them to keep an eye out for my very missed bright pink wallet.....Thanks and Have a GREAT Day!!!</div>Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397460317206110049.post-48423116439906073502010-08-26T17:23:00.000-07:002010-08-26T17:26:51.245-07:00I love being a (U of U) student!<center><a href='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/08/26/2039.jpg'><img src='http://blogpress.w18.net/photos/10/08/26/s_2039.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />
So I am here sitting on the TRAX train (which is always an entertaining experience in and of itself) coming home from school, contemplating life! This week is my first week in two years in which I am back to being a full time student, and I forgot how much I LOVE it!<br />
So I put U of U in parentheses because I'm not here to boast any opinions of one school is better than another, more that I just love learning. For the last two years since Landon and I were married I have worked full time and done school on the side. But now that I am so close to being graduated I just wanted to get it over with. <br />
During the time I was working full time I was always kinda depressed because I don't like the mundane of day to day routine. So when I started back this semester with my 24 credits (I'm crazy I know) I fell back in love with being a student! I love going to class and learning new things (not exactly paying or doing homework for said classes) and also making new friends and gaining new experiences! <br />
One reason why I love the U so much is the amazing diverseness you see around campus. One of my teachers brought up this idea that when you surround yourself with like minded people there is only so much you can learn. But when your surrounded with so much diversity you have the opportunity to learn and grow so much more and your opinions and beliefs have the opportunity to be challenged and strengthened. I loved that, and that's how I feel! <br />
So even though I'm probably going to have to sell a kidney or something to pay for my last two semesters of school, I can't wait, because I look back on everything I have learned and will learn and I can see how much I have learned and grown as a person! And I am stoked to get to graduate in May! And you better believe I'm going to be throwing a HUGE amazing party next year to celebrate, and everyone is invited!Michelle and Landonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018353186332891297noreply@blogger.com0
