Meeting my Favorite Author, Jodi Picoult!
So a few years ago I found a book written by Jodi Picoult and started reading in....and didnt stop till I had read all the books she had written over the past 15 years or so. Her books are fantastic, and she is by far one of the best authors, I have not found a book of hers that I did not like. She puts out a book every year and every year I buy it the day it comes out and read it with in a week only to have to wait a whole year for the next one. Well awhile back I heard she was coming to Utah for a book signing! Needless to say there was no way I was going to miss meeting my favorite author! So I drug Landon with me and we made the trip to SLC with my favorite books in hand ready to meet Jodi! She did a reading from her new book, which was really cool to hear her read her own book. Then she took questions from the audience about her upcoming books, the movie My Sisters Keeper that is based off of one of her books and how she comes up with her stories and does her research. It was by far one of the coolest things ever to hear how my favorite author has written these awsome books. After all that she sat to sign books. I brought two of my favorites for her to sign. I wanted to get a picture with her but they would not let me so landon took this while she was signing my book! I got to talk to her one on one for a min SO COOL! She was absolutly amazing, so well spoken and she does everything herself, she doesent have a staff to do her research it she goes and lives the life of the people she is writing about, I only wish I could say I have done some of things that she has. One of the coolest people I have ever met! These are some of my favorite books of hers, "Nineteen Minutes" is about a high school shooting by a disgruntled teen. "The Pact" is about suiside and the aftermath. and "My Sisters Keeper" Is about a a girl who was born to keep her sick sister alive (the movie for this comes out in June). I highly suggest these or any of her other books to read if you want to pass some time. Enjoy!
