Five Faves for Friday

It has been an unusually long week, this week! Its been very busy at work and tons of homework for my classes right after spring break. So I thought it would be fun to share 5 things that I have been loving this week!
.
I dont know why but I LOVE these cookies, and come on the "bunny" dough boy just makes you smile!
.
This has actually been on my Fave list for sometime now! But its even better for spring! Its the perfect light fresh citrusy smell! I love the grapefruit sent in it!
.
I kinda feel like an 80 year old woman admitting to this but Oatmeal Squares are my favorite cereal right now! They also make a great snack while I'm at work, there small and crunchy, the perfect  amount of sweetness and healthy!

.
This came in the mail this week!!!! My favorite magazine by far! I love finding new amazingly good recipes to make. My new favorite, Lemon pepper fettucini alfredo! SO GOOD!

.
And last but not least.....Landon always makes my favorite list but this week he went out of his way to make me feel special! He has class in the morning and is gone before I wake up. But this week he got out of class early and drove up to Lehi and surprised me with flowers when I got to work!
It was so sweet and way out of his way! I didn't have a vase for them so I had to fill up the sink and let them chill out there for the day!

.

I dont know if it because I have been stressed out that most of  my faves this week are food but stay tuned next friday for my next five faves of the the week!
.
What have been some of your favorite things in the past week?

Auto-Pilot...

So many of you know I go to the University of Utah, which means....LOADS of driving. I drive to and from Orem and Salt Lake three nights a week. Since I have driven this stretch of road the past few semesters, I have come to memorize all of it. I think I could drive it in my sleep now. About a month ago my radio died I'm my car so now I am left alone with my thoughts while I drive, annoying right. Well tonight on my way home from school my brain was off in wonderland and all of a sudden I wondered to myself when did I get in the fast lane?? I usually drive in the middle lane most the way and I didn't remember consciously getting into the fast lane! I realized I had been on autopilot for at least 20 min! After thinking hard about it I could vaguely recall signaling to get over to the fast lane to pass a slow car, and then just stayed there.
Now me being alone with my thoughts in my music-less car I started to wonder, How many other people do this, maybe not with driving but just in life?? How much time do we auto-pilot through in our daily life just doing each of our own repetitive day to day tasks?? One of the classes I am taking is called Death and Dying...(kinda morbid I know) but the class has gotten me thinking about really making the most of living! It scares me to think how much of my life is spent in auto-pilot. So now Im trying to come up with good ideas to take my life out of cruise control and give the mundane boring things in my life a little more meaning!
How many others out there catch themselves doing this? Or how do you spice up the routine day to day parts of your life?

I make it hard for Landon!

So I love being surprised but I don't make it easy! I am always telling Landon that I want him to surprise me and be a sweet and cute husband, but then he is married to me and I have to make it the hardest thing to do. I have to be in the know! I ask way too many questions so that I know what is going on. Landon is the worst lier in the world. These to combos make it almost impossible to surprise me, I ask questions and Landon tries to lie to keep the surprise a surprise, but then I can tell he is lying and get mad and he ends up telling me. So much for that surprise!
And then I am really impatient! So if there is something that I'm eyeing, I want it as soon as possible! Case in point, my favorite author released a new book and I wanted to read it so bad! We didn't have any spending money left until our next payday so I had to wait! Payday came around and Landon thought it would be cute if he got the book and surprised me with it when I got back from school. Well that never happened...I left early for work so I could stop by Target and pick the book up that morning so I could start reading it! After getting home from school I showed Landon what I got, and ruined his whole surprise! I still gave him the credit for remembering and trying to do something so sweet for me.
So either Landon is going to have to get better about lying about surprises or I have to be more patient, who knows if either of these will ever happen so that Landon can finally pull of a surprise for me!

My Birthday and Valentines Day

I had a great Birthday this year. Since Landon and I have gotten married I get to celebrate my birthday twice at each of our families houses. I got to take the day off from work and relax! It was great, to start it off my sis Lex took me to Kneaders for breakfast!  Then Landon surprised me and sent me to the spa for a wonderfull hour massage! We went to Color Me Mine and painted mugs and had a blast, we both had never been and it was so much fun I cant wait to go back. We went out to a wonderful dinner at Carraba's where we went on our first date to a couple years ago, It was SO good! And then Landon gave me my beautiful bed that he had made for me! I LOVE it! It is by far the coolest present ever, and its even better because now over the years I can look at it and sleep in it and remember that Landon made it for me!

A few days later we went snowboarding after some new snow had fallen and had a great time. We both love to snowboard but because of work and school we dont get to go often. It has now become tradition to go for my birthday, something fun and exciting that I look forward to!

For Valentines day we celebrated over the weekend. It was fun just to spend some time with each other. Landon banished me to the bedroom on Friday and surprised me and made a wonderful meal with candles and flowers. Landon got up and surprised me with making "heart shaped" pancakes for breakfast on Sunday, and then I made another romantic dinner for us on Sunday.

Also on another note I have started a new hobby!  Not that I really have a ton of extra time to have another hobby but I have fun with it. I always wanted to learn to make pretty cakes! I love watching the show Cake Boss on TLC and thats what started it. So finally I found an excuse to practice making my first fondant cake for our friend Kenna's 20th Birthday.  I loved how it turned out! I cant wait to find another reason to make another cake!

Around the house

So we moved into a new apartment about two months ago and all the walls were bare. So my nesting bug kicked in to make our new place a little more homey.  Here are some things I have done.

I saw this picture in the pottery barn magazine and thought it was fun but they wanted $200 bucks for the thing. So me and Landon came up with our own for about $25 with stuff from home depot and walmart. and now were slowly adding pictures and nick nacks to it.

Also I saw this cute entry way decoration and copied it for our from entry table, I got the lantern at Ikea for about $10 bucks and I spray painted it cream and added some decor balls and the letter C.

And then some cute pictures and a hanging planter tin I got for my birthday around the front door to finish it off.

I have a few more things on my to do list for the house. Since Landon made me a beautiful bed for my birthday I am now getting around to decorating our bedroom. Im going to attempt to make a new duvet cover and some curtains add some pictures and tie the whole room together.  I will post pictures when its all done!

Everythings Magic

So hear this please
And watch as your hearts speeds up endlessly
And look for the stars as the sun goes down
Each breath that you take has a thunderous sound
Everything, everything's magic
Just sit back and hold on, but hold on tight
Prepare for the best and the fastest ride
And reach out your hand, and i'll make you mine
Everything, everything's magic

-Angels and Airwaves

I was listening to this song tonight, it made me thing of my wonderful wife Michelle. I feel this is our story. That this was written for us. I am completely in love with my wife. When I am with her everything's magic. When I look back on the time that I have known my wife, my mind is filled the 'best and fastest ride' of my life. She is my everything.

Michelle is my Magic.
