More Road Trip...More Pictures!

After our first day in lake powell we stayed in Kanab, Landons parents had won a gift certificate to stay at a hotel.

Apparently it used to be the place where all the stars stayed while they filmed lots of old western movies in southern Utah.

The next day we were going to go back to lake powell and rent some jet skis and play around but it was way to windy and made the lake to choppy for jet skis :(

So instead we decided to take a side trip to Zion's and had lots of fun there. We could not hike angels landing because of the wind, so instead we did a hike called hidden canyon, which was very cool.

We ate at an amazing restaurant that night called sidewinders (I think) and then went to the local candy store in springdell and got some amazing chocolates!

After our last night in Kanab, we started to head home :( on our way back we decided to stop by Bryce Canyon! It was so pretty, I was a little bummed the hike I really wanted to do (called wall street) was closed due to a rock slide, I guess that's a good enough reason. So we did a few smaller hikes and still had some fun.

Funny story about the last picture...so in order to take this great picture Landon decided he needed to stand on the fence! Which entailed him trying to get on the fence and stay balanced on the top of the post, this took about 10 min, I and everyone around was dying laughing! So he finally gets balanced on the fence some foreign lady comes and stand on the other side of the tree totally ruining the shot! She stands there for a good 5 min clueless to the fact she was in our way, while poor Landon was dying trying to stay balanced on the fence post, I could not stop laughing!

So all in all we had a wonderful trip, it was so refreshing to get away from all our cares for awhile and enjoy some great scenery! We came back with lots of amazing pictures, sore legs, and a slight sunburn and we could not have been happier!

Road Trip! Picture Overload!

A few weekends ago Landon and I too the opportunity of taking a few days off firm work and taking a road trip to southern Utah! It didn't turn out quite like we had planned but we had a great time!

About an hour into our road trip our wonderful brand new car broke down!!! we had to pull of the freeway and wait 30 min in the middle of nowhere for a tow truck to take us back to Orem!

It turned out to be just a faulty sensor, and luckily since the car is under warranty the tow and repair was all free! But non the less it put us 4 hours behind schedule and we still had 6 hours to drive!

On the drive down in. The middle of the night we managed to have some fun...

Somewhere in Panquitch...right after this picture I was climbing up to get a picture and broke the wagon door :( opps!

We also managed to get on the wrong road somehow. Luckily this sign was there before we got to far out in the middle of nowhere!

We finally pulled into our lake powell campsite around two in the morning and then had to pitch our tent by the the headlights of the car.

The next day we did a lot of hiking and saw some beautiful things.....

We went and hike antelope slot canyon. It was so amazing!

I have hundreds of pictures I want to put up, they are all so pretty!

After that we went here...

It's the only place in the Colorado river that makes a 270 degree turn.

After that we went over and took a tour of the dam. Landon had a great time making dam jokes the entire tour.

And the rest of our trip will be concluded in another post, my iPad is getting mad at me for all the pictures I'm putting up!

Parade of Homes

Every year I look forward to going to this....

I love looking at all the houses, and seeing what money can buy and getting some decorating ideas!

But every year it makes me want one of these...

I don't necessarily want the million dollar houses they have, I can't understand spending that kind of money...mostly because we are nowhere close to having that kind of money. I also don't understand needing that much space and that much stuff. I would just be happy with a small house for me and Landon and maybe +1, 2 or 3 later down the road.

There were a few houses that were in our price range which made me happy because I want nothing more then to have my own hose that I can paint the walls and have a garden, and even a dog!

So after talking to a few builders we are stashing away cash so that hopefully by this time next year we will be homeowners!

Due West

So a couple of weeks ago was the Springville Art City Days and one of my favorite country bands Due West was supposed to be performing so I was so excited to see them!

But unfortunately the beauty of Utah weather it started storming and rained out the show. I was so bummed! So after they canceled the show and most people fled for home the band took cover under a small ledge and plaed acoustic for the few of us that stuck it out in the rain!

I think that it showed how good of a band they are if they sound that good acoustic. They were also just really nice people as well. When the show was canceled they had already been paid and could have just headed back to the airport, but they stayed and sang for 20 people in the rain!

One of my favorite songs by them is called "Tell Her" and they sang it for Landon and I!

The next night the city had another band that Landon got to mix the sound for, and he was on cloud nine! Landon loves working doing sound for concerts!

After there was fireworks!

I had so much fun! I love city fairs! My stomach felt sick for the next few days because of all the junk food I ate!

Five Faves for Friday....Edition 5

Well I think to start off this weeks favorites list My first favorite thing of the week is kinda an ode to the start of summer.....

#1-Outdoor Carnivals and city festivals! This past week has been both Orem Summerfest and Springville Art City Days! I love this time of year! The weather is finally warm and I love carnival rides!!!! And even more then carnival rides......carnival food! You can't get better then funnel cakes, scones and all things bad for your "diet".

#2-

Burts Bees is now my new favorite chapstick! It tastes good and makes my lips sooo soft! And I think its the best on chapped lips! And best of all, if you get the one in the small round tin.....it's wash proof!!!! I know from plenty of experience, i have one of these in every pair of scrubs I own and they get washed a lot! If you have ever washed a normal tube of chopstick yup know that it melts and gets everywhere! Not this, it stays in the tin so you dint have to get a new one and you won't have waxy spots on all your cloths!

#3-

Due West is a country band that I like, and I got to meet them this week (another post about that later)! But they were the nicest guys! And sing some great music! So if you like country music check them out!

#4-

So I am now repeating myself.....but that's how much I love these! They have totally made my week!

#5-

Landon the cute husband that he is surprised me this week with this bag! I saw it at the bookstore and wanted it so bad because it would double as my backpack and purse without being to big and bulky! I LOVE IT! And i also love that I have such a thoughtful husband!

So it's been a good week except for the rain :( hopefully next week the sun comes back out! Anybody else have some thing that made your week great?

Rice Cake Heaven!

They better have rice cakes in heaven, then I will be happy! I know I sound like a health nut now but I'm not, anybody who knows me can attest to my never ending sweet tooth! I don't like plain rice cakes they make me gag... But these....

Are amazing!!!!! I could seriously eat a pack of these a day, Im an addict! They have the Carmel corn flavor and also apple cinnamon and chocolate chip, how can you go wrong! They also have flavors such as ranch and a spicy one but i have not ventured away from the sweet ones long enough to try them (if anyone tries the other flavors before I get a chance let me know how they are!). My co-workers make fun of me for how many of these i down a day!

Killer Hamsters

So the other night Landon and I had some time to go catch a movie. So we picked this one...

I actually really like it, it was funny and had it's romantic parts and enough shooting and cars to keep Landon entertained as well! The only thing I am disappointed about this movie is that they had to throw the F word in at the end for no reason what so ever...kinda annoying. Other then that I would recommend this movie as a go see!

Also, when we were waiting for the movie to start theaters have commercials now...like we don't see enough commercials already! But this one had me busting up laughing! If you have not seen the hamster commercial for The Kia Soul then you HAVE to watch this! At first I was wondering if they were serious...come on rapping hamsters, I still hate the car! I think they look soo hideous! But the hamster idea was genius!

On other news I'm starting to like my new job, I keep trying to find little things to help me get over missing my old co workers. This is one I found today....

OUTDOOR LAP POOL! There is a fitness center next door to me and they let the hospital employees use the facilities for FREE!!! So this morning I packed up my swimming stuff and I went lap swimming on my lunch break! It felt so amazing! I haven't had much time to work out or even more to make it to the pool to actually swim laps, so it's so nice I have a pool that is so close and convenient! I'm going to try and make this a daily habit now, even though I can only spend about 30 min in the pool it's well worth it and such a relaxing break from my hectic work and school grind.
